choir performance with the symphony

A couple weekends ago the Charlotte Children's Choir performed with the Charlotte Symphony. While the late-night practices nearly wore Allie out, the performances were wonderful.

There were 5 performances from Thursday through Sunday; Martha and I attended the Sunday matinee performance.

In addition to Allie's choir, an adult choir and a 5-piece jazz ensemble also performed with the Symphony. A wide variety of holiday music, including some that involved audience participation, made the event more lively than a normal symphony performance. One of the more entertaining moments was during the singing of the "12 Days of Christmas", when audience members volunteered to sing the "five golden rings" part. Some were good, some not; all were wonderful.

This was easily the best show I've seen Allie's choir perform here in Charlotte (I don't think they'll ever top the spectacle of performing in St. Peter's Basilica this past summer).
