rocket launch

As part of our Cub Scout Scientist badge, our den decided to assemble and launch some rockets. The boys enjoyed assembling the rockets, as we learned about the various stages of the flight. The boys decorated their rockets as desired on their own.

We were fortunate to have an overcast day with very little wind. We launched the rockets at a local playground, which provided us a large area for the rockets to descend safely. Unfortunately, we still lost a couple rockets as the slight breeze carried the parachuting rockets into some trees.

I think the most fun had by the boys was competing to catch the rockets when they floated back down. Here are some pictures.

random. arbitrary. completely unnecessary. yet refreshingly therapeutic.
