My friend Martha and I took a weekend trip to Asheville a couple weeks ago.

We had a wonderful time staying at the Chestnut Street Inn bed and breakfast. It was within walking distance to downtown Asheville, where we were able to take in some wonderful food, arts, interesting people, and beautiful views.

While our B&B was great, right across the street was an even more impressive B&B, the White Gate Cottage & Inn. Their award-winning gardens were simply spectacular.

We also went hiking in the Pisgah National Forest, and enjoyed a picturesque lunch at the Pisgah Inn.

We had a very nice, relaxing weekend. We particularly enjoyed visits from Pumpkin Pie, the orange-colored tabby that "owned" the B&B. Pictures are here.
