cub scout camp

posted by Michael Piwonka 10:17 PM
The local cub scouts had a week-long, day camp just outside of Charlotte. Mason attended, but the Pack required several adult volunteers for each day of the camp. I volunteered to help one day of the week, and surprisingly, had a very good time.

Mason thoroughly enjoyed it, and came home each day totally exhausted. He got to participate in canoeing, swimming, archery, riflery, crafts, among other things. The theme of the camp was space exploration, and the scouts were able to learn the history of space exploration, from Gemini, through Apollo, the space shuttle, the space station, the Mars explorers, and future space plans.

I'm sure Mason will be looking forward to partaking again next summer.

random. arbitrary. completely unnecessary. yet refreshingly therapeutic.
