musical weekend

posted by Michael Piwonka 9:55 PM
This past weekend was spent practicing or performing in the kids' choirs. On Saturday morning, Allie practiced for the Charlotte Children's Choir Spring Concert, A Musical Tapestry. Her practice was followed by an awards ceremony, where Allie received a pin (to be worn on her uniform) commemorating her third year in the choir.

Also on Saturday, Mason's Sharon School MI Express choir performed at Carowinds Amusement Park. They took part in a concert featuring choirs from all over the area; all performances were judged, and Mason's choir received a Superior rating.

He and his friends spent the rest of the day enjoying the rides; when we picked him up at 6pm, he was completely soaked from one of the water rides. He had a blast.

Allie's performance on Sunday was wonderful, as always. Here's a picture of her singing and signing in Bob Chilcott's Can You Hear Me?, a song that features sign language accompanying the lyrics.

More pictures of the CCC concert can be found here.

random. arbitrary. completely unnecessary. yet refreshingly therapeutic.
