painting party II

posted by Michael Piwonka 7:53 PM
After having so much fun the first time, Jerry arranged for a group of friends to paint another of the blank canvases I have hanging around the house. But this time, it was at his house, which also serves as his private studio; it's always a treat to look at his many works, even those that aren't quite finished.

We didn't finish the painting, as everyone seemed more interested in visiting and enjoying the evening. The subject is supposed to be a contrast between masculine and feminine, with a monkey wrench surrounded by a pink ribbon. (I don't know if I get it either, but once it's finished, I'll post a picture.)

Allie probably did most of the painting, and commented afterwards about how relaxing and addictive painting can be. Mason painted a little, but mainly spent his time between throwing a ball and playing with Jerry's dog.

I'm not sure if Jerry plans to finish the painting himself, or have the group over again to work on it some more.

random. arbitrary. completely unnecessary. yet refreshingly therapeutic.
