camp greystone

It's that time of the year again. Allie is back at Camp Greystone for the two-week camp.

Today mark's the mid-way point of her stay, and she is having a great time, as always. However, this year we have a small concern: when she had her check-up at the doctor that's required for camp, the doctor noticed that Allie had some small red dots on her arm. The doctor suspected mononucleosis, and administered a couple tests.

The first test, with immediate results, was negative. However, the second test, of which Penny learned the results the day that Allie checked into camp, was positive. Penny told the camp doctor, and they are just going to limit Allie's rigorous activities, such as water skiing.

I've received my first letter from Allie, and she is having a blast. Since the disease is less contagious than previously thought, and Allie appears to have mild symptons at worst, I think it will probably be a non-issue.

However, Allie was planning to spend a week at the beach with one of her girlfriends when she returns from camp, but Penny and I will probably cancel that trip.
