charlotte children's choir

Allie had her spring concert with the Charlotte Children's Choir last Saturday night. Mason and I were able to get seats on the third row, and thoroughly enjoyed the concert.

This year's concert was entitled A Passport of Song, and featured songs from around the world. Allie's choir, the Treble Choir, performed 5 songs: a Chinese folk song, a Maori folk song (the Maori are indigenous people from New Zealand), an Israeli folk song, a Swahili lullaby, and a Southern United States folk song.

The other choirs performed songs from South Africa, Germany, Newfoundland, Korea, Finland, French Canada, and America. While the kids may not have understood the words they were singing, I thought it was great that they were experiencing music from different cultures.

random. arbitrary. completely unnecessary. yet refreshingly therapeutic.
