artwork

From time to time I gather up various pieces of art that have accumulated and take them down to the framing shop. Well, after putting it off for a long time, I took several items today.
The interesting thing was the variety of the pieces, from a fund-raising poster, to a birthday card, to an original acrylic from Barcelona.
The local Arts and Science Council 2007 fundraising campaign included a colorful poster that caught my eye. I decided to have it framed for Allie's room since the ASC is one of major contributors to the Charlotte Childrens Choir, of which Allie is a participant.
My sister Pat always creates wonderful homemade cards. They are very creative, and too beautiful to throw away after the occasion they're commemorating passes. She sent me a birthday card with an Asian flair; I've been keeping it for a couple months, and today purchased a frame to display it. It now sits on the night stand next to my bed.
Finally, a friend of mine brought me an acrylic interpretation of Antoni Gaudi's famous Temple Expiatori de la Sagrada Familia in Barcelona when she returned from Spain. I can't wait to get it back from the frame shop in a couple weeks.
Unfortunately I forgot to bring along the two Picasso reproductions my friend sent to Allie and Mason. I'll get those framed eventually for their rooms.
