We received a light dusting of snow on Thursday. While it wasn't a large snowfall, it was enough to close down local schools and businesses.

For a short time, large snowflakes were falling. Between the short flurries, the silence of the day was interrupted by the squeals and laughter of neighborhood kids taking advantage of the day.

A few neighborhood kids took advantage of my steep driveway to go sledding. I was actually a little worried that they might go so fast that they won't stop until running into the trees at the back of my yard. Thankfully, no one was hurt, but the kids did regularly come close to the trees. They loved it.

Unfortunately, the snow stopped too soon for them, and then warming temperatures brought rain by lunch time. By evening, the snow was disappearing.

random. arbitrary. completely unnecessary. yet refreshingly therapeutic.
