5th grade trip

posted by Michael Piwonka 11:29 AM
I chaperoned 3 boys on the Sharon Elementary Fifth Grade Field trip last week. We departed at 6am on Wednesday morning, and returned at 9pm on Friday night. In between we visited Jamestown, Colonial Williamsburg, and Monticello.

The weather was good for most of the trip: cool and sunny on Wednesday and Thursday, with light showers on Friday. Fortunately the heavier rain held off until we were back in the buses headed home. The trip took about 5 hours each way, and the DVD players in the buses helped pass the time.

If I remember correctly, there were 73 kids and 25 adults on the trip. Everyone had a wonderful time, but I think the adults were definitely ready to get back home after 3 days of trying to herd the kids around.

Photo Album

I used a new tool to publish the album of photos to the web: Picasa by Google. It's a very easy-to-use, flexible tool for simple photo manipulation and organization. I've created a gift CD with slideshow, along with the original pictures. The album published to the web also contains a slideshow; to view the album, go here, then click the Slideshow link.

random. arbitrary. completely unnecessary. yet refreshingly therapeutic.
