charlotte knights

I attended the Saturday night Charlotte Knights minor league baseball game with fellow members of a local divorce/separation group. The Triple-A Knights are part of the Chicago White Sox farm system.

We had a good time, and I've decided that minor league baseball is by far a better value than Major League Baseball. The price of admission is cheap, there are no bad seats (the stadium seats 10,000), snacks are but a few steps away, it's easy to get in and out of the parking lot, and the Knights have the best record in Triple-A.

The game was called after 10-innings because of rain, but the rain didn't stop the traditional post-game fireworks. As we gathered under the stands to stay dry, we enjoyed the exciting combination of man-made and natural fireworks, as lighting bolts served as a backdrop to the pyrotechnics.

A quick dash to the car in heavy rain, followed by a stop at Starbucks, and casual conversation with wonderful company make for a great evening.

random. arbitrary. completely unnecessary. yet refreshingly therapeutic.
