christmas plans

posted by Michael Piwonka 8:51 PM
The kids and I are planning to fly to Texas the week after Christmas to visit family and friends.

There appears to be an effort to revive a family tradition this holiday season: we're planning a family camp-out at our farm during that week. We've done it in the past, and kids and adults alike always enjoy sitting around a big bonfire, roasting marshmallows, imbibing age-appropriate drinks, and re-telling stories with a reckless disregard for the accuracy of the original stories.

If the weather doesn't comply, one appealing part of the outing is that we can always simply move inside the house.

Dennis is planning a large firewords display, which the kids always enjoy. My sister-in-law Deb and I are planning the meals, and mom has happily agreed to leave all the work up to us.

random. arbitrary. completely unnecessary. yet refreshingly therapeutic.
