trip through texas

posted by Michael Piwonka 3:14 PM
I've been taking a "vacation" back to Texas to visit friends and family. I am trying to reacquaint myself with myself.

I'm having a wonderful time, and felt more at peace with myself the moment I made the decision to get away for a little while. I have been busy after arriving in Dallas and staying with my old friends Tony and Laura. After visits to Thomas and Wendy, Liz and Dennis, I am now heading to visit with Pat and Adrien.

Adrien is going to take me golfing tomorrow, but I had to back away from his offer of 36 holes of golf. Eighteen will be more than enough.

I have been doing a lot of soul-searching, and have found many reasons to smile. This trip has been a smashing success up to now.

My friend Tony drives a bright red Honda Element, which just happens to be Allie's favorite car. She was so excited to hear that I was driving around in one that I decided to post a picture of it for her. Tony says he wasted some money putting custom black rims on the car; I guess he wanted to "pimp his ride."

I also love those rear suicide doors.

I've bought some gifts for my family (and myself), and can't wait to get back to share them. Until then, however, I plan to continue enjoying my leisurely trip across Texas.

random. arbitrary. completely unnecessary. yet refreshingly therapeutic.
