girl scouts

I've been temporarily thrown into the position of being a single parent. For the most part, the transition for the kids and I has been painless; having played the role of "Mr. Mom" for the last few years has prepared me well. And it also has made the change seamless to the kids, which has been crucial.

However, I had a chuckle when I received a voice message today about a mother/daughter girl scout meeting to kick-off the new year. This is new territory for me. I don't think I want to be the only guy there (and I may not even be welcome!), and I'm not sure if Allie would want to attend by herself. I've left a message for the neighborhood mom who will be hosting the event to request guidance.

But I have to admit I'm sort of looking forward to working this situation. Who knows, maybe I'm cut out for sewing patches on Allie's vest...

random. arbitrary. completely unnecessary. yet refreshingly therapeutic.
