softball, game 6

posted by Michael Piwonka 10:41 PM
We played short-handed again, and this time, we paid for it. Our opponents were one of the better teams in the league, and they beat us soundly.

We even had to draft the father-in-law of one of our players, who's in his 60s, to play right field. Every time the other team hit the ball to him, it was a homerun (or a 4-base error).

While we were just glad that he was willing to keep us from forfeiting, we noticed that the other team kept purposely trying to hit it to him, even when they were way ahead. This didn't go over very well with the team. Needless to say, we're waiting for our opportunity to play them again in the playoffs, with a full roster.

random. arbitrary. completely unnecessary. yet refreshingly therapeutic.
