We took Mason to visit an endoocrinologist yesterday. He is well below the norm for height and weight in his age group, and his pediatrician suggested we see the specialist.

Before deciding if growth hormones would be necessary for Mason, he will have a x-ray of his bone structure to determine the relative "age" of skeleton. That is evidently a more accurate determination of his projected size than going by his actual age.

After talking with the doctor, I was left with the impression that Mason is most likely going to be a "late bloomer", since both Penny and I were. Nature will take care of itself, just later for Mason than his peers; he'll probably still be growing well into his college years.

We'll have a more definitive answer once the x-ray is taken.

random. arbitrary. completely unnecessary. yet refreshingly therapeutic.
