junior achievement, revisited
posted by Michael Piwonka 7:17 PM
Penny helped teach Junior Achievement (JA) last school year, and has volunteered me to organize it this year for the kids' school.
JA allows kids to see real-world application of the skills they're learning in school. Instructors, primarily volunteers from the PTA, teach predetermined lessons to students, demonstrating how the business world works.
I attended a luncheon today, where I learned what my responsibilities will be. Basically, I need to promote JA to both teachers and potential instructors. And if we have a hard time finding enough volunteers to instruct, I may end up doing that also.Labels: school
