bird nest, part II

posted by Michael Piwonka 9:22 PM
Unfortunately, the bird nest in our hedges met some kind of abrupt end, as the nest was evidently raided by some predator.

However, we also have a nest built in the loops of an electrical cord I've coiled and hung in our garage. The nest contains five small hatchlings, and are closely guarded by their mom. I'm not bird expert, but I believe the nest belongs to a wren.

The kids have enjoyed following the progress of the nest, from its construction to the laying of eggs, and now to the growth of the young birds.

I will post a picture soon, once the birds get slightly larger.

random. arbitrary. completely unnecessary. yet refreshingly therapeutic.
