landscaping

I spent the better part of today removing some sort of hedges from the side of the yard. Digging up the root systems with a shovel was slow, but a good workout.

I also removed several branches from a couple dogwood trees along the same fence. We are preparing the fenceline for aucuba shrubs. They grow quickly, providing an evergreen border.

We are attempting to create a "private sanctuary" in the backyard by isolating the yard from the neighbors.

We plan to plant the Japanese maple we bought for Penny's birthday in the center back of the yard. It will become the focal point of the yard when sitting in our sun room.

random. arbitrary. completely unnecessary. yet refreshingly therapeutic.
