After assuring the US people that he knew of Iraq's weapons of mass destruction, Bush's cavalier jokes about looking for those WMD under his desk at a recent journalist banquet seem a bit ridiculous. I'm sure that the families of deceased military personnel appreciate the jokes.

In my humble opinion, making light of starting a war under false pretense falls somewhere between incredibly bad taste and just plain stupidity. Given Bush's past intellectual record, I'd guess it's the latter.

I'm waiting to hear the next jokes about the happily-liberated Iraqis parading burned American corpses through Fallujah. Obviously those people are grateful to Bush. I bet they'd appreciate his sense of humor.

I do occasionally laugh at Bush's antics, in an attempt to hide the embarrassment.
