junior achievement

My wife is teaching her second installment of 5 Junior Achievement (JA) lessons to the Second Graders at my daughter's school.

JA is intended to teach business concepts to young future leaders.

My wife has been excitedly putting together her lesson plans. Today's lesson: assembly line manufacturing efficiencies. The students will create make-believe donuts this morning, and will compare the cost of making a single donut versus mass producing dozens.

My daughter Allie, who is in the class, is excited to have her mom teaching at school, but had only one suggestion for her mom after last week's initial lesson: Mom, don't be so boring.

random. arbitrary. completely unnecessary. yet refreshingly therapeutic.
